Oily Skin - Homemade Beauty Recipes

On the one hand, people with oily skin are blessed that they don't have to combat dry skin and all the beauty problems, such as flaky skin, fine ones, and rough complexions, that come with it.

On the other hand, folks with oily skin have problems all their own, particularly pores that become clogged and a complexion that shines just a little too much. The following simple producís cost only pennies to make and can keep even the oiliest of skins clean and fresh.

Nature Medicine and Home Remedies for OIly Skin

Home remedy #1 Cucumber refresher

As you can tell if you walk downthe facial-mask aisle in any drugstore, cucumbers and skin go well together. As a light astringent, this versatile vegetable is particularly useful for oily skin because it removes unwanted oil while maintaining the skin's delicate pH (acid/alkaline) balance. The apple eider vine-gar and lemon juice in this recipe provide an extra exfoliating, degreasing punch.

Inqredients

1   peeled,sliced cucumber

1   tablespoon apple eider vinegar

2 teaspoon lemon juice

Put cucumber in blender (juicer is even better) and set on high until cucumber is liquefied. Using fine sieve or cheese-cloth to catch pulp, pour cucumber-juice mixture into small bowl. Add apple eider vinegar and lemon juice. Mix well with whisk. Transfer ingredients to sport-type squirt bottle. Apply by splashing onto face or by saturating fresh cotton ball and patting on skin.

Storage and life span: Because cucumber does not hold up store in the refrigerator and discard after two to three days.

Home remedy #2 Vodka Tonic

No, this isn't the popular mixeddrink; it's an astringent for oily skin. Made from distilled potatoes or grains, vodka makes a wonderfully clear, clean oil remover. Pineapple is a refreshing exfoliater as well as a skin softener. Together the two help to elimínate unwanted oils while leaving the skin soft, smooth, and revitalized.

Inqredients

'4  cup vodka

4  cup water

1  teaspoon pineapple juice

Mix vodka, water, and pineapple juice in small sport-type squirt bottle (the kind bicyclists use). Pour small amount into palm of hand and splash over face, being careful not to get any in your eyes (vodka can sting). Also can be applied with fresh cotton ball. Use every morning or whenever you feel need for quick face cleaning. Shake before using.

Storage and life span: Store in the refrigerator. Will last for six to eight weeks.

Home remedy #3 Tomato Lime Relief

The acidic tomato can bringneeded relief to oily or greasy skin. The tomato not only helps restore healthy acid levéis to oily skin, it also helps tone skin and improves circulation. A splash of lime juice adds an astringent, exfoliating punch to this recipe. Those with very oily skin can use it every day. Otherwise, a couple of times a week should be sufficient.

Inqredients

1   large tomato, quartered

1   teaspoon lime juice

Place tomato chunks in blender and puree until liquefied. Using fine sieve or cheesecloth to catch pulp, pour tomato juice into small mixing bowl. Add lime juice. Use whisk to mix ingredi-ents. Transfer to sport-type squirt bottle. Apply to face with fín-gertips or deán cotton ball. Allow to sit two to three minutes. Rinse face with warm water and pat skin dry.

Storage and life span: Store in the refrigerator and keep no longer than two or three days.
