Oily Hair -  Homemade Beauty Recipes

Oily hair, as anyone who has it will attest, may be the most diíRcult to keep in line.

You wash it in the morning and by the afternoon it needs to be washed again. Because of the highly productive oil glands in their scalps, people with oily hair need a shampoo that will accomplish two things: remove excess oil from hair shafts and leave the scalp toned and squeaky clean. Following are some natural products that can help.

Note: Theserecipes produce a shampoo that feels thinner than commercial shampoos but that works just as well. For a thicker feel, just add more soap

Nature Medicine and Home Remedies for Oily Hair

Home remedy #1 Sage Shampoo

Sage is a wonderfully aromaticastringent for oily hair. It not only iifts oil from the hair follicles, it also tightens the pores of the scalp, helping to stem the flow of oil from the skin to the hair. As a bonus, sage helps cleanse the scalp of dandruff. Folklore praises sage as a panacea of sorts: good for strengthen-ing the mind as well as the muscles. While it probably doesn't do that, it is good for your hair.

Ingredients

3/4  cup water

2  tablespoons dried sage

8  tablespoons pure soap flakes (or ^2 cup liquid soap for sensitive skin)

Bring water to boil. Remove from stove and pour into mixing bowl. Add sage. Allow to sit for ten to fifteen minutes. Strain into another mixing bowl. Add soap flakes. Mix well. Allow to sit until mixture thickens. Pour into clean plástic bottle, such as shampoo or conditioner bottle.

Storage and life span: Store in a cool, dark place. Will last for twelve to sixteen weeks.

Home remedy #2  Lemon-RumShampoo
